40CrNiMo(40CrNiMoA) belongs to national high strength alloy structural steel.
It has high strength, toughness, good hardenability and anti overheating stability, but it has high white point sensitivity and temper brittleness. Poor weldability, requiring high temperature preheating before welding, stress relief after welding, and use after tempering.

In what applications is 40CrNiMo used?

40CrNiMo is generally used to make important parts with high strength and good plasticity, and to make important parts with special performance requirements after nitriding treatment, such as shafts, gears, fasteners, etc.

Main application: high strength parts such as aeroengine shaft, shaft, gear, fastener, etc.

Heat treatment specifications

Quenching 850 ℃, oil cooling; tempering 600 ℃, water cooling, oil cooling.
